Rosato di Ampeleia IGT Bio 2022 - Ampeleia

About the wine

In 2002, a famous trio led by the Grand Dame of Italian viticulture - Elisabetta Foradori - took over this enchanted business located high on a rock in Roccatederighi in Maremma - Ampeleia: Preserve nature, create something new, wines of an incomparably complex, sensitive, elegance, where the mind counts more than the body. Today, 40 hectares of various terroirs are cultivated biodynamically at 200 m to 650 m, including in the cellar - Marco Tait involved from the start - noble restraint, spontaneous fermentation, only minimal sulfurization, no filtration, cement instead of oak. The wines speak vividly and reflectively about their origins and develop - even when opened - into fascinatingly mature, noble personalities. Outstanding!

Tasting note
Pink Panther - creeps in almost softly, inconspicuous, like a purring cat, the soft bright red fruit, but that is a predator, slightly animalistic touch, yet so smart, focused, fresh, even mustard, and these claws create immense etheric tension. On the palate, super-slim, supple strength, soft bright red, slightly animalistic fruit, bares the teeth, the almost cutting ethereal and mineral tension, the tart tannins like a hiss, great how much smart elegance goes hand in hand with this uncompromising hunting instinct. A smart killer Rosato!
Vinification
Very selective reading. Fermentation with the vineyard's own yeasts, 20% whole Alicante Nero grapes are added to Carignano must, aging for 6 months in concrete tanks
