Roc du Pière 2018 - Domaine de Courbissac

About the wine

A film producer, Reinhard Brundig, a winemaker, Marc Tempé, who realizes dream pictures, the other dreamy wines the common dream: a winery, 2002, Minervois in Languedoc: Nature first, biodynamic cultivation, old vineyards, excellent terroirs and higher altitudes at the foothills of La Montagne Noire. The success is great and to this day the domain has grown to 30 hectares, wines for heart and mind, favorite way, and since Brunnhilde Claux has been responsible for winemaking in 2013, harvesting earlier, completely dispensing with new wood, the wines have become fresher, finer, more elegant, pure pleasure, wines that accompany you through life, simply belong once you've tasted them, year after year and the best ones are simply terrific.

Tasting note
Scandal? Seduction, style, but also provocative. Seductively soft purple fruit, dark berries, also a hint of light fruit, orange, lots of creamy charm and lots of style, but also passionate with joy and eccentricity, wild, tart dark and demanding, ash, vegetal freshness. On the palate, sweet silky elegance, purple, dark fruit, including blackberries, then increasingly crackling, sparkling, playfully provocative, irritating, floral, peppery, dark, instead of scandal, then long on with its bewitchingly elegant spiciness and stylish, charming fruit. Wonderful, hard to believe, a player who doesn't take himself too seriously and entertains with a lot of style.
Culinary recommendation
Recommended by Flaschenpöstlern: Roc du Pière goes well with roasted vegetables, barbecue and game.
Vinification
Very selective harvesting and sorting by hand, short extraction, whole grape fermentation with vineyard's own yeasts in concrete vessels, tamped with the feet and very gently pressed, maturation in very large wooden barrels, only minimal sulphurization before filling.
