About the wine

The history of the winery dates back to the middle of the 19th century. In 1993, Mona Bastgen and her husband Armin Vogel took over the vineyards - privileged slate slopes near Bernkastel and Kesten - and founded their own Wiengut. They cultivate just 5 ha, but they cultivate them with even more care, lots of manual work and organic (certified). Nature is also left plenty of room in the cellar, and this is how the small Bastgen Winery produces highly acclaimed Rieslings (and more) far away from the mainstream: transparent, precise, vibrant.
