About the wine
If you're looking for something special, then you can't miss out on this biting white wine 2019 — Riesling Chi. Enchanting and sunny landscapes of the coastal region give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the South African winery Saurwein conjures up this white wine with refinement and experience. Tasting note
2023 was a great vintage with a very long, cool aging period. Keywords for this vintage: medium weight on the palate, sunshine in the glass. Fragrant orange blossom, green melon, lime, yellow stone fruit, honeysuckle, flint.
Culinary recommendation
Sophisticated, great intense fruit play, lively and a great accompaniment, especially with spicy, spicy dishes and a perfect seafood wine.
Vinification
Chi means “life force” and chi stands for CHIUTA (an African rain god). The picturesque location of the vineyard in the fertile Elgin Valley inspired the creation of this fresh, handmade Riesling. The grapes are harvested by hand, cooled, then sorted, destemmed and pressed by hand. Spontaneous fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks and took about 6 weeks until an optimal residual sugar content was reached. The wine was prepared for bottling and bottled after 3 months in the tank and released in the bottle after a further 2 months.
