About the wine
The pioneering Argentinean company Salentein was founded in 1992 by Dutch businessman Mijndert Pon. The distinctive bodega is in the shape of a cross, where the wines mature 8 meters underground in a Berrique cellar, which is reminiscent of an amphitheatre. The vineyards for the Barrel Selections are located in the heart of the Uco Valley at an altitude of 1050 to 1700 meters. The nights are cool and the days are sunny and warm. The altitude and special climate characteristics make the Uco Valley one of the most privileged wine regions in South America.
Tasting note
Great aromatic intensity of red fruits, wild herbs and flowers. In the mouth, a lively wine, with fine and silky tannins, refreshing acidity and minerality. A sophisticated Malbec, complex and expressive with a long and persistent finish.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with grilled food, chili con carne and meat.
Vinification
Aging in oak barrels (50% French and 50% American) for about 12 months.
