About the wine
The Masseria Li Veli, located in Salentino, was built at the beginning of the twentieth century by Antonio De Viti De Marco as a model cantina for the whole of southern Italy. About ten years ago, the Falvo family, the founders of Avignonesi in Montepulciano, bought this estate. The vineyards have been replanted with Puglia's traditional Negroamaro, Malvasia Nera and Primitivo varieties. All vineyards were planted in the Salento tradition using Alberello technology (trees). This complex breeding method only allows manual work. Regular and perfect ripening of the grapes is the reward for the increased effort. The wineries have now also been carefully restored and equipped with the latest technology. The results of these efforts prove that it is also possible to produce wines of great elegance in the extreme south of Puglia. Since 2005, all Li Veli grapes have been certified organic. Her wines embody the combination of character, typicality, harmony and elegance. The young wines should be harmonious and lively and the more structured wines should express their particular elegance and complexity over time. Pezzo Morgana is the name of the vineyard surrounded by centenary olive trees.
