About the wine
The name Prachiosso is derived from the Latin word “Pratum chiusum” (closed meadow) and refers to the special location of this area in a natural amphitheatre. The vineyards in Frazione Sant'Anna di Monteu Roero are located on the south side of the valley. The plot, which has been planted with vines for 12 years, was bought by Angelo Negro from a local monarch in the 196s and planted in 1971. The soil is calcareous and the plot is 32 meters above sea level. The south-facing position gives the Roero produced here a robust structure and a good body. No herbicides are used and the grapes are harvested by hand: the grapes are placed in 2 kg boxes to ensure their quality.
