About the wine

Pierre Frick. Pierre Freak would be wrong because everything is so self-evident here, so far removed from much else on the market and because it has been on the market for so long and exactly the same - 12 generations, 12 ha. Organic since 1970, biodynamic (demeter) since 1981, so of course no chemicals in the vineyard, a small portion of sulfur in the cellar, if any, only before filling. After that: cork or bottle cap? Both, on every bottle. It can be that simple, you just have to do it as Pierre, his wife Chantal and his son Thomas do. And the wines, so different and so fascinating that you simply have to taste the entire range here, from white, to orange to red, from dry to sweet, from slender to curvy, from focus to width, but what they all have in common is their great harmony, depth and individuality. Raw meat - so red, so juicy, slightly sweet, ripe red fruit, raspberry, cherry, so juicy, slightly suspended, brown, ripe, sweet tones, so aromatic, so animalistic, with freshly seasoned herbs and light tickle, mineral. Instinctively mouthwatering smell. On the palate, juicy, red-brown, fleshy, ripe, slightly sweet fruit, slightly oxidative, you want to chew on the tannins, it's all harmoniously dense, structured, with the ripe fruit the mineral resistance, ethereal spice, long. And isn't it also fresh, raw meat in a way? Yes! Like this one! It's just great how much juice, substance and instinctive pleasure it provides, how natural the animalistic is here.
