About the wine
With sensitivity and instinct, the winemaker from the Argentinean winery Masi Tupungato masters this red wine in the enchanting and sunny landscape of Mendoza. The dominant Corvina 2015 — Passo Doble is the missing puzzle piece in your wine rack. Flaschenpöstler tip: Combine this Corvina with recent types of cheese or roasts.
Masi TupungatoRed wine | 75cl1416°-18°CThe fine variety of this wine is created by the harmonious combination of Corvina and Malbec.
Tasting note
Dense ruby with violet reflections. Delicately scented on the nose, with ripe, intense, almost overwhelming aromas of dark berries, warm spices, roasted aromas and some marzipan. A strong start on the palate. Densely woven, full-bodied and well-balanced. Once again, ripe, concentrated berries, cherries and gentle, well-integrated tannins. The aftertaste is aromatic with a good aftertaste.
Culinary recommendation
It goes well with barbecues in general, but also pasta such as spaghetti carbonara.
Vinification
Masi marries the young wine from the Malbec grape with whole, dried Corvina grapes to initiate a desired second fermentation. The wine is then aged for twelve months in small wooden barrels.
