The Sangiovese and Cabernet Franc varieties used for Montefili come from sites in Montefili and Panzano. The wines are aged separately, the Cabernet Franc in small barrels (tonneaux) to 350 liters, the Sangiovese in larger wooden barrels to 2000 liters. After blending and bottling, the wine remains in the bottle for a further 6 months before it is released for sale. The glass reveals a classically elegant wine with finesse, fruity aromas, precise and transparent. On the palate, it is light, refreshing and has a beautiful, round texture. Yet it lasts surprisingly long.
