Montecucco Rosso DOC 2018 - Montenero

About the wine

This is still a very small and recently family-run business. Just 7 ha of vineyards (and 3 ha of olive groves) are cultivated here organically and have only been cultivated for a few years, the Montenero project has only existed since the 2015 vintage! Everything is still young, fresh and familiar here, and so are the wines, wonderfully clear, mineral-rich and natural wines, open and fresh, no dust, no tradition that is heavy to bear, but ideally the taste of indigenous grape varieties and the magnificent terroir at Montalcino at the foot of the Monte Amiata volcano. It's going to be a very nice friendship again!

Tasting note
Youth in transition to adulthood. Still very fresh and carefree, not dark, no heaviness, the clear, red but already calm fruit, berries, lots of freshness, undergrowth, and then the ripe plants, the first serious, solid character traits, chalky freshness, a light spice, full of confidence, radiates peace of mind despite all their vitality. On the palate, this youthful freshness, clarity and lively spiciness, undergrowth, fresh acidity and bright minerality, vital in a very joyful way, comes across very light-footed, carefree tart and fresh from start to finish, carries no ballast at all, simply fresh and free, and with a carefree direct manner. It gives an unbelievable amount of joy and puts you in a good mood. Very consistent!
