About the wine
The winery was founded in 1896 in the municipality of Balavaud in Lower Valais. Jean-René Germanier took over the winery from his father. The estate is currently managed by Gilles Besse, Jean-René's nephew, with great success. The company has been completely equipped with new cellar technology in recent years and forms an important framework of Valais wine. Autochthonous grape varieties such as Cornalin, Humagne and Amigne have been part of the Jean-René Germanier program even before the hype about local and traditional things begins.
Tasting note
Country love - The last heat of late summer is buzzing, the air is drenched in the somewhat dusty scent of freshly brought straw bales, the hay is lying outside, the honeycombs are filled to the brim and ready to be harvested, harvest time is canning time, a beguiling smell of quince jelly and orange jam, orange zest also flows through the house, everything is in a warm, golden light. You can also taste what you smell directly, a smooth warmth on the palate, butter caramel, like every magic potion here with a tart touch, a subliminal freshness, here from the orange zest and the bitter orange, which is still ripening in the greenhouse. Thanksgiving, thanks Earth.
