About the wine
To get a feel for the mountainous and hilly landscape beauty of the Bündner Herrschaft, there is no way around this red wine, which the Swiss winery Weinbau von Salis masters with a fine sense of texture. With this strong red wine 2016 — Malanser Pinot Noir Rüfiser AOC, the term taste takes on a new meaning. Culinary tip from Flaschenpöstler: This Pinot Noir is ideal for serving with duck or salmon.

Tasting note
Strong color, impressive aromas, fine notes of dark berries (blackberry and blueberry), plus aromas from barrique aging: tobacco, fine smoke, some bacon, incredibly profound fruit aromas. On the palate, the strong tannin stands out first, powerful and rich, yet beautifully integrated, then this filling aroma again. The finish is impressive in length and depth.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with veal, beef, lamb, Graubünden specialities and aged cheese.
Vinification
Selective hand picking. Gentle destemming in large wooden fermentors, cold storage time for more fruit and color. Regular manual immersion of the mash during fermentation. Gently press the fermented mash. Aging for at least 12 months in French oak barrels (barrique).
