Les Traverses 2022 - Domaine de Courbissac

About the wine

A film producer, Reinhard Brundig, a winemaker, Marc Tempé, connoisseurs, one realizes dream images, the other dreamlike wines the common dream: a winery, 2002, in Minervois, Languedoc, southern France: Nature first, biodynamic management, old vineyards, excellent terroirs at the foothills to La Montagne Noire. The success was big and fast, to date, the domain has grown to 30 ha and is a safe value year after year and Brunnhilde Claux has been responsible for winemaking since 2013 (after years at Gauby and Terroir al Limit!) , harvested earlier, dispensed with new wood, the wines have become fresher, finer, more elegant, the pure pleasure of wines that accompany you through life simply belong, year after year and the best are simply terrific.

Tasting note
Folklore — that is home in the admiring contemplation of the longing stranger. An open, inviting familiarity, sweet and wild scent, this strange and at the same time auspicious harmony, dark soft red fruits and berries, including chokeberry, interwoven and playing with wild brown tones, but also sophistication and style, ennobled by the chalky freshness, the mineral notes. Intense fruit and freshness on the palate, wonderfully clear out traditions here, is freed from heavy sweet ballast and plays beautifully, lots of color, lots of freshness, tart and wonderfully intense yet easy game. Just great for this price!
Culinary recommendation
Flaschenpöstler-Tipp: Les Traverses passt perfekt zu geröstetem Gemüse, Barbecue und Wild.
Vinification
Very selective harvesting and sorting by hand, brief extraction, whole grape fermentation with the vineyard's own yeasts in concrete vessels, tamped with the feet and pressed very gently, only minimal sulfurization before filling.
