About the wine
The Iona winery is located in the Elgin wine-growing region. Where you think you've finally lost your way now, another 20 km and you'll come straight to the former apple farm. Andrew Gunn and his family bought the beautiful farm in 1997 and through their great motivation and dedication, they renovated the property and turned it into a beautiful wine farm. The name Iona comes from the eponymous and legendary island west of Scotland. The Gunn family can trace their roots back to when the Vikings landed in Scotland in 900.

Tasting note
Pure fruit, soft white pears and bright lime citrus. Razor-sharp acidity and carefully considered oak wood result in a wine that is precise, complex and yet multi-layered. It has a nice oyster shell minerality, a slight salty note, a long finish and a good weight on the palate.
Culinary recommendation
Excellent with grilled African ostrich. Perfect with lobsters or crawfish.
