About the wine
To get a feel for the hilly and mountainous beauty of Lower Austria, there is no way around this white wine, which Austrian winery Baumgartner Baumhausweine masters with a fine sense of texture. Tasting note
The grapes for this pure Grüner Veltliner come from around 60-year-old vines in vineyards in Gaisberg, aged in 500 liter oak barrels. On the nose, aromas of red apple, vineyard peach, some (pink) grapefruit and the typical, slightly spicy pepper note and a fine honey touch. On the palate, with juicy fruit, round and full-bodied, with supportive freshness and again fine spiciness in the long finish.
Culinary recommendation
It goes well with freshwater fish, such as fried trout Müllerin style or perch fillet in beer batter with tartar sauce or poached with white wine herb sauce, but also with white asparagus, Wiener schnitzel and poultry dishes.
