About the wine
In 2003, May-Eliane de Lencquesaing finally took over the Glenelly winery as a 76-year-old lady. She was the owner of the famous Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande in Bordeaux for over 30 years. As a Frenchwoman, her guiding principle is “South African wine with a French touch.”

Tasting note
This youthful classic Cabernet Sauvignon shows all the characteristics of the Simonsberg. Black and red fruits, very pure with blackcurrant pastille fruit, tangy acidity and fine tannins.
Culinary recommendation
Goes very well with strong meat dishes such as lamb stew with cumin or a spicy game ragout.
Vinification
After harvesting, the grapes were lightly crushed and fermented in stainless steel tanks with skin contact for 2-3 weeks. After pressing the mash, the Cabernet Sauvignon underwent malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels and matured there for another 12 months.
