About the wine
Walter Massa met with a lot of incomprehension and shaking of his head in the 1980s when he decided to use the autochthonous Timorasso grape variety. It is mainly thanks to him that the variety is now being cultivated again by several winemakers in Piedmont. Walter Massa doesn't think much of fashion trends, but is nevertheless open to innovation. With great commitment and dedication to this variety, he brought in the first harvest of a single-varietal Timorasso in 1987.
Tasting note
Light golden color, complex bouquet with clear fruit notes as well as some flint, gooseberries and pineapple. Powerful, concentrated and fruity on the palate. With all its power, yet elegant and harmonious with a long finish.
Vinification
Short mash fermentation, then temperature-controlled fermentation at 19 to 22 ºC. Ageing in steel tanks, aging on the yeast for at least ten months, then in the bottle for at least a further 12 months.
