About the wine
The gravelly, calcareous soils in Burgundy offer the winemaker from the French winery Domaine du Chardonnay everything he needs to live out his craft and produce a wine for discerning connoisseurs. For Valentine's Day, we recommend the dominant Chardonnay 2018 — Chablis 1er Cru AC Montmains! Flaschenpost team tip: Combine this Chardonnay with goat cheese or soft cheese.
Tasting note
Pale yellow in the glass with shiny reflections. The nose is lively with fruity notes. Strong, full-bodied and soft on the palate with a nice acidity and typical minerality. Good persistence.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with fish, Asian dishes, veal, vegetarian dishes.
Vinification
Controlled alcoholic fermentation. The ageing takes place on the lees in temperature-controlled steel tanks and in oak barrels for 15 to 18 months. This is followed by fining and filtration.
