About the wine
When Matteo Correggia took over his father's winery in 1987, the Roero was still unknown - in contrast to the neighboring areas of Barbaresco and Barolo. Roero wines are more impressive for their fruitiness and elegance than for their power and power. Correggia was one of the winemakers who helped the entire zone achieve today's fame. His wines always have varietal typicality, straight-lined fruit and great elegance. The new cellar was inaugurated in 2000 and Matteo was considered one of Italy's most capable winemakers. In June 2001, Matteo died in a tragic accident at work. He left behind two small children and his wife Ornella, who, despite everything, decided to continue running the business. This young, strong woman coped with the multiple burdens of housewife, mother and entrepreneur in an exemplary manner and she continued Matteo's work unwavering. Despite all the prophecies of doom, she was able to maintain the quality level and the wines are still brilliant!
