About the wine
The discreet white wine 2017 — Babylonstoren Viognier is the missing piece of the puzzle in your wine rack. The winemaker from the South African winery Babylonstoren has absolutely mastered his craft. Style and finesse are the characteristics of this white wine, which originates in the fertile and sunny landscape of the Coastal Region. The Flaschenpöstler promise a culinary experience when you serve this Viognier with fondue or potatoes.

Tasting note
Shows aromas of fresh peach, dried apricot and apple blossom on the nose. The wood contributes to the depth even though it doesn't dominate. The mouthfeel is round and creamy thanks to the 30% well-integrated French oak. A floral nose and a rich finish complete the perfect balance.
Culinary recommendation
It goes best with mild, creamy curries, dishes with ginger, saffron and coconut, or fruity dishes such as chicken or lamb tagine with apricot.
Vinification
The grapes come from the slopes of Simonsberg on Table Mountain sandstone. 70% of the grapes were cold fermented in stainless steel tanks for 3 weeks, while the remaining 20% were fermented in 300-liter French oak barrels and 10% in 4000 liter barrels. The wine matured on fine yeast for 7 months before it was bottled.
