The Eisele vineyard covers just under 15.5 hectares near Calistoga in a small branch of the Napa Valley. Since 1971, his Cabernet Sauvignon grapes (the first Cabernet vines were planted here in 1964) have been used to produce one of the most aromatic and long-lasting wines in California. The 1971, the first vintage, was pressed by Paul Draper from Ridge Vineyards. Since 2013, the winery has been part of François Pinault's Artemis Group (Château Latour, Château Siaurac, Clos de Tart, Domaine D'Eugenie, Château Grillet Under the direction of Frédéric Engerer and Antoine Donnedieu de Vabres, the work continues in the tradition of the previous owners. Biodynamic rules have been followed in cultivation since 2000.
