About the wine
If we can offer something special, it's this powerful Montepulciano — Alpha One. The winemaker from the Greek winery Alpha Estate greets us with this wine, which he grows in the countryside in Macedonia. Flaschenpöstler tip: Combine this Montepulciano with hard cheese or beef.
Tasting note
Rich, with intense characteristic aromas of red wild berries. Complex bouquet with typical and versatile scents. Particularly rich and well-structured tannins. Flavor balance at a high level, with a particularly long finish. The wine should be decanted at least one hour before serving so that its aromas are optimally developed when in contact with oxygen.
Culinary recommendation
Our recommendation: The red wine tastes best at slightly chilled 16°-18°C. Flaschenpöstler recommend this Alpha One for beef, pasta and pizza.
Vinification
Desemming, no crushing, cold soaking - skin contact under controlled conditions, alcoholic fermentation with a gradual rise in temperature, care of the wine “sur lie” for eight months with regular stirring. Thirty-six months in Allie - Bertrange with 200% (18+18) new medium toast oak barrels. No treatment or filtration before bottling and eighteen months in bottles.
