About the wine
Pinotage was the first wine Simonsig launched in 1970. Redhill Pinotage comes from the best location of our own vineyards on beautiful Redhill, which provides ideal conditions for this grape variety. The 275 hectare Simonsig Estate is located northwest of Stellenbosch, South Africa's famous first-class wine-growing region. Simonsig's wine tradition dates back to 1953 with wine pioneer Frans Malan. Today, the three sons Johan, François and Pieter run the winery.

Tasting note
Concentrated bouquet of plum compote, chocolate and barrique aromas with a subtle animal note. Rich, with soft tannins. Long, berry finish.
Culinary recommendation
It goes very well with duck, pheasant or ostrich fillet. It is also suitable with chicken in a sour-sweet sauce or with vegetable gratin. Semi-hard cheese is suitable as cheese.
