About the wine

The superlatives that go well with Fratelli Gini's Soave wines also apply fully to their Sauvignon. The plants were imported from the Loire Valley, the home of Sauvignon, hence the name Fumé, as this is the original name in his homeland. The vines in the Maciete plot have a density of 10,000 vines and the Fratelli Gini harvest just 500 grams of grapes per vine, an extremely low yield. All this shapes the character of the wine, which is incredibly concentrated, expresses its varietal characteristics discreetly and elegantly, yet unmistakably and with restrained vigour. It can rightly be considered one of the most beautiful Sauvignons in Italy.
