About the wine
The Kuhn family has lived in Laumersheim since the 17th century. Their vineyards are located here and in the surrounding villages (Lauersheim, Großkarlbach, Dirmstein). Philipp Kuhn Junior, just 20 years old at the time, has been responsible for winegrowing and cellars since 1992. His credo is: You first have to understand the vineyards to make good wines. That's a clever sentence!
Tasting note
On the nose with aromas of citrus fruits, elderberry, ripe apple and rock gravel. On the palate with lots of freshness and juiciness, the wonderfully integrated acidity gives the Riesling plenty of pull and ends persistently with chalky minerality and candied citrus fruits.
Culinary recommendation
Zu Ente, asiatischem Essen und Crevetten empfehlen Ihnen die Flaschenpöstler diesen Riesling Vom Kalksteinfels Trocken.
Vinification
The manually harvested, highly ripe grapes are gently pressed after a maceration period of 12 hours. The wine is then fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and stored on the yeast until shortly before bottling. Vegan certified.
