About the wine
Picturesque and magnificent landscapes of the Duero Valley (Castilla y Leon) give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Spanish winery Bodegas Triton conjures up this red wine with refinement and experience. With the fresh Tempranillo 2014 — Rejon, you can offer your guests something very special. Flaschenpöstler culinary tip: This tempranillo is very good to serve with red meat or lasagna.
James Suckling: 91/100
Tasting note
Opaque dark red Vivid, seductive aromas of black cherries, blackberries, candies, anise and ground pepper. On the palate, it is very strong, full-bodied and supple. With round, almost sweet tannins, it is full-bodied, meaty and juicy. In the finale, it impresses with incredible length and beautiful elegance. A truly luxurious wine from Tridente!
Culinary recommendation
Flaschenpöstler-Tipp: Rejon passt perfekt zu rotem Fleisch, Lasagne und Barbecue. Unsere Empfehlung: Der Rotwein schmeckt am besten bei leicht gekühlten 15°-18°C.
Vinification
Rejón is the name of Bodegas Tridente's best and oldest vineyard. The vines were planted as early as 1898. They grow on very sandy soils that are filled with a layer of gravel, which makes up the minerality of these wines. With this wine, Tridente wants to depict the character of the plot and the vines as unadulterated as possible. The grapes are carefully harvested by hand in small 15kg boxes, selected, fermented in small barrels and then aged in French barriques for 20 months.
