Au Bon Climat - this name is an announcement and a clear commitment to Burgundian-style wines from California. The winery sees itself as a “homage to Burgundy wines” and produces classic Burgundy wines on the Pacific coast in the western USA. This fairly bright Pinot Noir has power and complexity. The tannins are silky and the aroma of the wooden barrel is only slightly noticeable. Everything is finely woven, but tightly and with pressure. The lovely spiciness is typical of Santa Barbara pinots.
