Petite Arvine Le Vin de l'Assassin AOC 2022 - Le Vin de l'A

About the wine

Evil tongues say about mountain valleys that people neither come out nor look out. All you have to do to discover fantastic things is to take a look. To career changer Alex Stauffer in Valais, for example, who has switched from working on a screen to working in the vineyard. After only a short period of study and training, Alex founded Le Vin de L'A in Flanthey in 2018 with ½ ha of vines and since then, the now 3 ha have produced beguiling charismatic wines. No additives, with character. All work is carried out manually, in line with the lunar cycle and the terroir, so that additives such as sulfur are neither desired nor necessary. Oh what, the wines are as great as they are, anything else would be disruptive!

Tasting note
Doze - everything cold and hard seems filtered out, a scent like a mild light: bright, almost white, gentle fruit: even flowers, draws soft: the chalky minerality is very gently embedded. Happy on the palate, sensitive, everything is fine in expression, buttery smooth flow, silky, delicate acidity, warmer in sound: the fruit yellow, barrel notes, the herbs reinforce the comforting feeling, the finish like waking up, back to reality: a slight bitter tone, salty. What a wonderful way to let go!
Culinary recommendation
Flaschenpöstler tip: Petite Arvine Le Vin de l'Assassin AOC goes well with rice dishes, fried chicken and toast Hawaii.
Vinification
Very, very selective harvest, berry by berry, by hand, fermentation with the vineyard's own yeasts without sulfur, 1 day on the mash, aging over 9 months 2/3 in terracotta, 1/3 in wooden barrels. Minimal sulfurization.
