About the wine
Solar Viejo, a top company of the Freixenet Group, carefully controls the growth and care of the vines and grapes from start to harvest. Winemakers have been supplying the bodega with their grapes for generations; Solar Viejo monitors around 400 hectares of vineyards.
Tasting note
The Orube is aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels. The taste reflects notes of ripe fruit combined with fine roasted aromas, handed down through the oak barrel. Complex aromas show its powerful and well-balanced character.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with lamb, venison, meat dishes and cheese.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand. After the grapes have been gently pressed and slowly fermented in open containers, the wine is aged for 12 months in French barriques (30% of which are new).
