About the wine

Poliziano is the undisputed top producer in Montepulciano. The owner and winemaker is Federico Carletti, who optimized the vinification in the eighties together with his oenologist Carlo Ferrini and made a name for himself in the Italian first guard. Carletti acquired Lohsa in the 90s and completely replanted the vineyards with Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo, Alicante, Malvasia Nera and Cabernet Sauvignon. The name Poliziano goes back to the Renaissance poet Angelo Ambrogini (1454-1494), who was born in Montepulciano and worked as a teacher and poet in Florence under the name “Il Poliziano”.
