About the wine
The landscape in Catalonia is barren, whose fascinating expanses don't fit on a postcard, but in a bottle. With a lot of feeling and experience, the winemaker from the Spanish winery Cellers Can Blau ensures that his craft inspires and convinces you. With the fine Mas de Can Blau, do/mo from 2011, you will positively surprise your guests.
Tasting note
A large, elegant red wine with a complex scent. Notes of cedarwood, tobacco, Christmas spice, ground rock, tangerines and violets. Something reminds me of tall, young Riojas. Very nice balance of fullness and material density, fine-grained, present and supporting the entire wine. Juicy, refreshing acidity, fine fruit extract, yet high alcohol, the wine comes across with cool finesse. Long-lasting aromas, with notes of tobacco and black tea on the finish. Will increase with storage.
Vinification
Harvested and selected by hand. The Garnacha vineyards grow on slate soils, the Cariñena vineyards on clay and the Syrah on limestone, i.e. three different terroirs combined in one bottle! The top wine Mas de Can Blau matures for 18 months in new and used French oak barrels.
