About the wine
The winemaker from the Lismore Estate Vineyards winery greets us with this wine, which he grows in the countryside. This powerful Shiraz 2017 — Lismore Syrah Estate Reserve crowns every festive meal with elegance and finesse. Tasting note
It has an extremely pure, slightly floral bouquet of light blueberries and blackcurrants with scents of crushed iris leaves and violets, almost Burgundian. The palate is very balanced with perfect acidity and filigree tannins. This Syrah has an unmistakable feeling of weightlessness. It is one of the most precise Lismore red wines I've come to know in several years of tasting. Absolutely overwhelming.
Culinary recommendation
Excellent with strong meat such as beef, lamb or game.
Vinification
The 2018 Estate Reserve Syrah comes entirely from Greyton, 50% of the grapes were fermented as whole bundles and aged in 500 liter and 700 liter barrels with 30% new oak.
