About the wine

A long story for once, because in 1647, a vineyard owned by the Chivite family in this region was recorded for the first time. Over many generations, the family has gradually expanded the estate and business to considerable size with skill and vision. More than 120 ha are cultivated in Granjade Legardeta, other vineyards including in Ribera del Duero and Rioja. But size alone doesn't make good wine! We know that here too, and so great emphasis was always placed on the terroir during expansion. In addition to numerous points for their wines, the family has received numerous medals and awards for their important impulses for viticulture in the region.
