About the wine
The winemaker from the Spanish winery Bodega Contador greets us with this wine, which he grows in the countryside. Give yourself a treat for the senses with the delicious La Cueva del Contador Rioja DOCa from 2006!
Tasting note
On the nose, you'll find a fresh red fruit note with accents of blackcurrant and toasted bread. The start is fresh, juicy on the palate, followed by an impressive depth, which is elegantly underlined by the fruit and precious woods.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with: charcuterie, aged cheese, game, stews, barbecues.
Vinification
Hand picking and careful selection. Temperature-controlled fermentation in open wooden stands. Malolactic fermentation and subsequent ageing for 20 months in new French barriques.
