Christmas 2021 is just around the corner! Make the most of it with this provocative Grenache 2018 — La Baixada. You can describe the landscape in Catalonia with words such as barren. However, the Spanish winery Bodegas Alvaro Palacios is trying to express the beauty of its homeland with this red wine. We think he succeeded! Tasting note
This single-layer wine from La Baixada — a “Vinya Classificada” in the Burgundian sense of a Premier Cru — is pure sensuality made from virtually pure Garnacha (98%). Energetic, juicy, fresh and at the same time sensually soft, fragrant and charming, supported by the finest tannins and a mineral backbone. According to Álvaro, La Baixada is best admired and enjoyed as a soloist without food accompaniment.
