About the wine
With the fine Isola Bianca Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG, which was produced in 2017, you will definitely have a lot of fun. The winemaker from the Italian winery Teruzzi & Puthod is absolutely proficient in his craft. Style and finesse are the characteristics of this white wine, which originated in the fertile and flourishing Tuscan countryside.
Tasting note
Bright yellow with greenish reflections. Vivid notes of citrus, white flowers and some almonds. Wonderfully fresh and elegant on the palate. Invigorating, appetizing acidity that continues until the finish.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well as an aperitif, with bruschetta.
Vinification
The vineyards are located in several areas of the municipality of San Gimignano at altitudes of 120 to 300 m above sea level. The Vernaccia di San Gimignano is a grape variety with a very ancient history. The name probably comes from the Latin “vernaculus”, which means “local”, “from this place.” After harvesting at the end of September, the grapes are gently crushed and the pressed must is fermented and aged at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks.
