About the wine
The municipality of Großhöflein was first mentioned in 1153. The former place name “Heulichin” now stands for our top wine, pressed from the varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Blaufränkisch and Zweigelt.

Tasting note
Deep dark ruby garnet, opaque core, purple reflections, delicate brightening. Herb-spiced, tobacco-coated black cherries, a touch of plums, dark minerality. Compact, some cassis and licorice, present tannins, spicy aftertaste, some nougat in the finale.
Culinary recommendation
It goes well with dark meats, fried meats and game with dark sauces.
Vinification
Selective manual harvesting, spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel tanks at max. 30-32°C, flooding of the mash 3 times daily during fermentation, maceration time for 3 weeks, malolactic treatment in stainless steel, followed by 18-month aging in small oak barrels, limited production ~ 1,800 bottles
