About the wine

The Liechtensteins take their name from a castle south of Vienna dating back to the 12th century. This is also the original home of the princely family. It is therefore more than obvious that the origin of Hofkellerei Liechtenstein is also here in the vicinity of Vienna, in the beautiful Weinviertel. The family has been growing wine in this picturesque part of Austria, more specifically in Wilfersdorf, since 1436. It was only at the beginning of the 18th century that they came to Vaduz, after acquiring the County of Vaduz and elevated it to the Imperial Principality of Liechtenstein.
