About the wine
N*Anticchia was the first wine we made in the Etna area, it is the result of a selection of the best grapes. The name is a word from the Sicilian dialect and means little. N*Anticchia represents the essence of our version of the Etna wine region and the centuries-old Nerello Mascalese grape variety, which can express a lot.
Tasting note
On the nose, delicate strawberry and raspberry notes, floral tones and subtle wood, on the palate great elegance and minerality with velvety tannins. Complex with incredible character. It reaches its best drinkability after 5 to 15 years of storage.
Vinification
N*Anticchia was Paolo Caciorgna's first Etna wine and is the “essence” of his Nerello Mascalese wines. Thanks to the lava soil created centuries ago on which the pre-Phylloxera vines stand, the N*Anticchia is rich in minerals. It is aged for 18 months in 50% new and one-year French barriques.
