About the wine

A venerable estate against a breathtaking backdrop, surrounded by a paradisiacal nature reserve, is home to the outstanding Castello del Terriccio wines. A narrow, dusty serpentine path, which leads past huge pine trees and magnificent flora and fauna, leads from the small Tuscan village of Castellina Marittima to the magnificent Castello del Terriccio estate. The view of the seemingly endless expanse and the dark blue sea is breathtaking. In addition to grains and olives, this beautiful spot of land produces first-class wines under the direction of Gian Annibale Rossi di Medelana Serafini Ferri. The sandy and clayey soil of the vineyards has a high proportion of copper, iron and magnesium, which gives the wine a characteristic structure and complexity. The evergreen, Mediterranean scrub (bush formations) and the magnificent eucalyptus trees not only protect the grapes from the wind, but also give them their unique aromas and scents — a characteristic typical of the winery.
