About the wine
Poggio Argentiera is a relatively young winery in the heart of Maremma, near the coastal town of Albarese. Here, between a beautiful nature reserve and the Mediterranean Sea, is the Morellino di Scansano designation of origin and the climate is extremely healthy for the vines due to the sea breeze. Giovanni Frascolla grew up on the family winery as the grandson of Virgilio and Rita Tua. After working with his father in recent years, Giovanni is now responsible for Poggio Argentiera. Of course, he is supported by a team of winemakers, the same team as Tua Rita.
Tasting note
This wonderfully balanced, full-bodied and garnet red wine enchants with aromas of ripe wild berries, along with hints of plum and cocoa as well as a hint of toasted bread. Its pleasant palate start, the soft, full-bodied and incredibly harmonious structure, its velvety tannins and a very long finish make it an unforgettable treat.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with pasta with meat, beef with dark sauces, grilled or fried and veal with dark sauces.
