About the wine
With experience and intuition, the winemaker from the Austrian winery Anton Kollwentz masteres this red wine in the picturesque landscape of Burgenland. A must for connoisseurs, this distinctive Blaufränkisch 2008 — Blaufrankisch Point! The Flaschenpöstler guarantee a culinary experience when you serve this Blaufränkisch with pasta with porcini mushrooms or lamb.
Tasting note
Intense and concentrated on the nose. Ripe cherries, lots of blackberries, elderberries and fine floral nuances. Very complex and powerful on the palate, elegant with fine fruit sweetness, well-integrated tannins, dense body with subtle acidity. The aftertaste is long, mineral and rich. Be sure to open or decant young vintages a few hours in advance before consumption.
Culinary recommendation
It goes well with beef, venison and lamb.
Vinification
The grapes come from Riede Point, which is located on the southeastern slope of the Leitha Mountains. The clay soils have a high lime content. Fully ripe, healthy grapes are selectively picked by hand. Ageing for 30 months in small French oak barrels. Filling without filtration and fining.
