About the wine

Tasting note
Batàr is considered one of the most beautiful white wines in Tuscany and is Querciabella's homage to Burgundy. The fine cuvée of Chardonnay and Pinot Bianco glows in a bright straw yellow. On the nose, ripe, yellow-fruity aromas of quince and pear, exotic notes of peach and some roasted hazelnuts. On the palate, it shows wonderful minerality, impressive richness, complex fruit aromas and a long, intense finish. Undoubtedly one of Italy's greatest white wines.

Vinification
Bàtar is made from vines over 30 years old in the municipality of Greve in Chianti. Pure exposure to the south, characterized by clay, some sandstone and slate. After selective hand-picking, alcoholic and malolactic fermentation takes place in French barriques with regular bâttonage. Subsequent ageing for 10-12 months in new and partly used barriques, followed by six months of maturation in cement tanks.
