About the wine
With the snappy Nebbiolo 2013 — Barolo Villero DOCG, nuances and accents are redefined. With experience and intuition, the winemaker from the Italian winery Oddero masters this red wine in the blooming and picturesque landscape of Piedmont. Culinary tip from Flaschenpost team: This Nebbiolo can be served very well with prosciutto or pizza.
Tasting note
The prestigious family winery Oddero is located in the heart of the Nebbiolo paradise Barolo, on the flanks of the impressive hills of the neighboring village of La Morra. The 6th and 7th generation around the committed Mariacristina Oddero relies entirely on tradition combined with current and future-oriented sustainability. The Villero vineyard, only 1.44 ha in size, is located in the municipality of Castiglione Falletto and although it is only a few meters away from the Rocche di Castiglione, the soil type is very different. It is more compact and the proportion of clay with lime is larger, and the soil is also richer in nutrients. Villero is always rounder and juicier, with a warmer aroma and darker fruit notes.
