About the wine
Picturesque and sunny landscapes of Piedmont give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Italian winery Pico Maccario conjures up this red wine with refinement and sensitivity. You will certainly have a lot of fun with the fine Barbera d'Asti Sup. Epico, which was produced in 2013.
Tasting note
The Barbera d'Asti Superiore “Epico” from Piedmont, Italy, is presented in rich ruby red. On the nose, the red wine unfolds its complex, fruity bouquet of dark cherries and raspberries, underpinned by fine vanilla and spicy notes. On the palate, the “Epico” is soft and structured, with a fine acidity and a cool fruit aroma. The wine has a long aftertaste.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with beef, grilled meat, lamb
Vinification
The grapes are carefully pressed and fermented in steel tanks for about 12 days. The wine is then aged in small French oak barrels for at least 12 months.
