Antenata Toscana IGT 2020 - Bindella / Tenuta Vallocaia

About the wine

The winemaker from the Italian winery Bindella - Vallocaia has absolutely mastered his craft. Elegance and refinement are the characteristics of this red wine, which originates in the flourishing and fertile Tuscan countryside. With the distinctive Merlot 2013 — Antenata Toscana IGT, you can offer your guests something very special. Flaschenpöstler tip: Combine this Merlot with poultry or slightly spicy red meat.

Tasting note
The pure Merlot is shiny, ruby red in color, dense and complex on the nose. Its notes of dark cherries, blackberries, dried rose petals, some sweet tobacco and dark chocolate are surrounded by a touch of mint. On the palate, a powerful, complex bouquet with fine roasted aromas unfolds. The aftertaste is wonderfully long, the wonderful balance rounds off the pleasure perfectly.
Culinary recommendation
Wonderful with tagliata di manzo and pasta with truffles.
Vinification
The Merlot grapes from the “Santa Maria” vineyard are carefully selected and, after harvesting, fermented on the mash in stainless steel tanks. The young wine then matures in new French barriques for twelve months and in the bottle for a further twelve months. Homage to the art of wine — this noble and elegant Merlot, which is only produced in large years. With the name “Antenata”, in English Ahnin, we want to remind you of the timelessness and values as well as the millennia-old tradition of winemaking and take it into the future.
