About the wine
The organically produced Rosso di Montalcino from Podere Brizio absolutely impressed us during the tasting. What is the difference to the expensive Brunello? Only the duration of barrel maturation. In terms of taste, this means fewer woody notes and fewer tannins, the wine is lighter and fruitier and cannot be stored as long as its famous big brother.
Tasting note
The Rosso di Montalcino 2015 is fruity, fresh and elegant. The nose is intense with notes of ripe red fruits. The palate has a great freshness with elegant notes of red currants and red berries. Body with a balanced and lasting finish.
Culinary recommendation
Goes great with first courses and meats.
Vinification
The wine is traditionally vinified with spontaneous fermentation of local yeasts and refined for 12 months in French oak barrels, which are not surpassed by 54hl. Bottle aging for at least 3 months.
