About the wine
The Barossa Valley north of the city of Adelaide is at the heart of Australian viticulture, the most famous growing region on the continent. The roots - both historically and literally - go back to the middle of the 19th century. The winery also accentuates the romance of the good old days with antique tools, but the wines, in their characteristic, unadulterated style, are fully in tune with the times. The glory of the valley is the large Shiraz stocks grown in bush form dating back to 1860, with yields of only around 15 hl/ha. Rockford s Basket Press Shiraz comes from such old vines, it clearly embodies the traditional style of the region.
