8 Vents 2021 - Atlan und Artisan

About the wine

The winemaker from the Spanish winery Atlan und Artisan greets us with this wine, which he grows in the Balearic Islands. If we can offer something special for Easter 2023, it's this dominant Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 — 8 Vents. Flaschenpöstler tip: Combine this Cabernet Sauvignon with ribeye steak or pizza with mushrooms.

Tasting note
Our newest addition from the island! The 8 Vents has pronounced aromas of dark fruits and beautiful spicy notes of anise and cloves on the nose. On the palate, herbal and ripe aromas as well as creamy flavors. It is round and fleshy with shiny tannins. An absolute cult wine from Mallorca by the duo Sebastian Keller and Philippe Bramaz.
Culinary recommendation
Flaschenpöstler recommends this 8 Vents for red meat, pizza with mushrooms and ribeye steak. Our recommendation: Drink this red wine at a slightly chilled temperature of 15°-17°C.
Vinification
Mallorca is the largest of the Balearic Islands with a great heritage of forgotten wine culture. Atlan&Artisan has its own vineyard in the north and also works with several smaller artisanal winemakers in the various parts of Mallorca. The island and the sea - due to its nature as an island with every direction open to the sea, the winds have the biggest influence on agriculture. Every corner of the island creates particular microclimates and seasonal changes. For the grapes from the producers, they choose different locations to create a wine under the name of the 8 Vents = 8 Winds of the island. This is how the grapes express the Mediterranean climate. The 8 Vents was fermented in 3,000 kilo oak barrels, with malolactic fermentation in barrels, and spent 14 months in used 225 liter French oak barrels.
